  8. Weight: 7.68 pounds

What makes it perfect for Photoshop?

Investing in an LED-Backlit Non-touch WVA Display of 17.3 inches screen size is a smart move by any Photoshop user. The size of the display allows greater attention on all your Photoshop projects. Who does not want to observe minute details of images on the screen while photoshopping?

The laptop is equipped with Anti Glare technology which is so important for Photoshop users. Binge staring on a screen leaves unnoticed damage to the eyesight of the user and hence Technologies such as Anti Glare keep a check on the safety of the eyes of the user. Dell Inspiron is known for its versatile functionality and it has a wide range of selectable features that approve its usage for multiple fields of work.

DISPLAY: Before explaining the technical details of the display, it feels good to remind ourselves that the laptop has Anti Glare technology to protect the eyes from unnecessary stress and glaring that occurs during long hours of work. The laptop has a 17.3 inches screen size which is vast. The resolution of the screen is Full HD (1920 x 1080) pixels and as a result, the user would witness a razor-sharp screen displaying crisp and clear images.

CPU AND GPU: this and this combine to deliver a powerful and speedy performance of this laptop. Yes, we do agree that the GPU is not the latest high-quality one. But it is good enough to suffice your requirement. The rest of the job gets done by the resolution and i5 processor from Intel. There are least chances to notice lags or glitches during work.

RAM AND STORAGE: RAM of this laptop can be upgraded to 16 GB and similarly the storage can be upgraded to 512GB SSD + 1TB HDD.

This means we have huge space for enhancing the features and meeting our requirements from time to time. But for the information, an 8GB RAM and simple 1 TB HDD storage would be enough to get the job done.

However it completely depends on the choice of the user and if one decides to use a combination of 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD + 1TB HDD storage, there’s nothing that can match it’s Stormy speed.

WHAT IT HAS: The connectivity ports are available are Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 1x USB 2. 0, 2x USB 3. 1 Gen 1, 1x USB 3. 1 Type-C, 1x RJ-45, 1x HDMI. With that, we get an HD webcam, microphone Input, and headphone output facilities. We know the purchasers will be curious to know about the HD webcam with dual array microphone, but as far as we have gone through various reviews we found the webcam to work expectedly well on its part.

CONSTRUCTION: Yes, here comes the downside of the laptop which was so long considered to be a heavenly designed piece of innovation. What went wrong with the construction of the laptop is its weight. But users have to understand that we cannot fit every best feature in a machine. So if there are some pros, it’s natural to have cons too in the same product.

With so many upgradable features and a vast variety of uses, Dell Inspiron has a weight of 7.68 pounds. What is good is its design and construction which does not feel bulky; it is still a slim laptop hoaxing a large screen size which again falls to be the reason for its weight.

WHAT COULD BE IMPROVED: The basic flaws in the laptop are weak graphics support and a large weight of the laptop. Also, one needs to be careful with the battery life, which is not again is not a great match to such a power-packed laptop. other than that every other feature is manufactured in a feasible and user-friendly manner.

  • Massive 17.3 inches screen size
  • Anti-glare Technology
  • HD webcam
  • headphone and microphone ports
  • A good number of connectivity ports
  • Upgradable Ram & Storage
  • Intel i5 processor Gen 10
  • Dell Inspiron laptop weighs slightly more than other laptops on the list
  • not completely affordable
  • unreliable battery life
  • Lacks a dedicated graphics card support

What makes it perfect for Photoshop?

Full HD 4-way NanoEdge bezel display standard screen size of 15.6 inches comes with a blazing-fast processor and graphics card along with a very lightweight construction that makes it a fit for traveling purposes. Even at present, many Photoshop users are going to agree to the fact that working on laptops with Photoshop is more convenient than working on monitors.

It is true that with a laptop, it becomes difficult to obtain true colors and high-quality color calibration, but still if one chooses to carry out the work on a laptop, there have to be some traveling requirements. Asus laptop matches that particular requirement to bring out the difference.

DISPLAY: Asus gives you a standard 15.6-inch screen size with a full HD 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution. You meet an incredible 88% screen-to-body ratio with the distilled clarity and crystal clear images on a screen. WHAT IT HAS: First of all the laptop flaunts a backlit keyboard with an Ergonomic chiclet design. Everyone loves to have that LED backlight that environs the keyboard while we are comfortable typing on it. It covers a fingerprint sensor along with some connectivity ports. USB 3.21 Type C, USB 3.2 Type-A, USB 2.0, and HDMI; Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) (*USB Transfer speed may vary. Learn more at ASUS website) are the ones. Most of our work depends on Wifi, TYPE C, and HDMI connection.

CONSTRUCTION: What convinces us the most is the feathery – lightweight laptop. The laptop from Asus is a very sleek and smart piece. The 4-way Nanoedge display and the comfortable Ergo-Lift hinge on which the screen of the laptop rests form the two major centers of construction that have been mastered like a pro by the manufacturers.

WHAT COULD BE IMPROVED: We are fine with the RAM of the laptop which is limited to 8GB, but what makes us a little concerned is the battery life of the laptop which is not going to last you long if you are continuously using it. so do ensure a backup before you take a leap for a continuous workflow.

  • Full HD display with 88% screen to body ratio
  • Sleek and compact design for easy traveling
  • Ergo-Lift hinge
  • 4-way nano edge Technology
  • Very Fast combination of processor and graphics support
  • Unreliable Battery life.

ASUS VivoBook F510QA

  1. Operating System: Windows 10 in S mode
  2. CPU: AMD Quad Core A12-9720P Processor (2. 7 GHz, up to 3. 6GHz)
  3. GPU: AMD Radeon R7 Integrated graphics chipset

  7. Storage: 128GB SSD
  8. Connectivity: USB 3. 1 Type-C, USB 3. 0, USB 2. 0, HDMI
  9. Weight: 5.5 pounds

What makes it perfect for Photoshop?

A powerful blend of AMD Processor and Graphics grabs most of our attention leaving the rest of the specs unnoticed. But, let’s not do this, a fine analysis of the specs makes us proud of the laptop. Under $500, we get perfectly matching features for Photoshop users. The standard screen size and the added benefit of the Full HD resolution make it a clever charm in the eyes of the users.

DISPLAY: First thing first, we have a Nano Edge Display with an Ultra-Thin bezel. A classic display size not just maintains the lightweight feature of the laptop, but also keeps it fairly portable stuff. So, the screen size of 15. 6 inches with Resolution being Full HD 1920×1080 p.

CPU AND GPU: It is rare for an affordable laptop to feature a fast pack of processors and graphic support. Here we see the ASUS Vivo book housing an AMD quad-core processor and AMD Radeon R7 GPU for a flying processing speed. The equipment is more sententious because it comes with a powerful resolution and you do not have to pick one between top-notch graphic support and a full-HD display. Needless to say, you can work with a lag-free system for breakless hours and simultaneously save some time for your own recreation, it might be simple gameplay too.

RAM AND STORAGE: It becomes a little challenging to convince a user to buy a laptop that features 4GB DDR4 RAM and 128GB SSD storage. The basic problem however doesn’t lie with the RAM. As we mentioned earlier, for simple editing, adding effects and filters and other such photoshop works can still work with 4GB RAM but what we require is large storage size. SSD storage triggers the working speed but it does not provide a colossal space that we can instead obtain from HDD storage in this price range.

WHAT IT HAS: ASUS Vivobook packs all feasible sets of features to empower social networking, photo editing, casual gaming, binge-watching, music genres, and much more in one place. It has these USB 3. 1 Type-C, USB 3. 0, USB 2. 0, HDMI Connectivity ports to facilitate sharing and editing of data.

CONSTRUCTION: What we mean by a Nano-edge bezel is a 0.8 inches sleek and graceful framing with 0.3 inches of nano-edge bezel work. What complements it further is the 80% screen-to-body ratio giving a wholly immersive experience with photoshop.

WHAT COULD BE IMPROVED: We really cannot complain much about the shortcomings under this price segment but it would have been much better if this laptop facilitated WI-FI connectivity and a less noisy system. Wrapping it up for this product and the list, overall this is a sleek and stylish queen to compliment any workplace.

  • NanoEdge bezel Full HD display
  • All important connectivity ports
  • compact and sleek build
  • Good processor and graphics support
  • Affordable for photo editing
  • Low on RAM, for photoshop we recommend you add 4GB of more RAM
  • The size of the storage could have been improved

Break the Myths:

Well, let’s make the game more informative for you for a surer buy. We begin this by breaking some myths about “The ideal Budget Photoshop laptop”.

Especially when we are taking up a budget product, it is likely to confuse us whether which feature deserves our investment and which one is being hyped extra just to drain your pocket.

We will not let the myths deceive you. We have factual clarifications so that you do not get confused and invest exactly in what you should invest for.

Do you need a 16 GB RAM ?

We have heard and read a lot of experts suggesting a 16GB RAM for Photoshop uses.

Well, what to do with such fast RAM when you just do not need anything more than just half of it?

Photoshop by itself does not make you use a lot of RAM. It is only when you are working with files of large sizes, intricate designs, and a lot of effects and filters that you are going to require more than 4GB of RAM.

We definitely do not suggest you call out anything less than 4GB to 8 GB, but having said that we don’t even give that extra hype to a 16GB RAM as a “must buy” for Photoshop. Let it depend on fair chances. If you get something better than 8GB RAM, wonderful! If you do not find a 16 GB fitting your budget, it is still as fine as it can get!

Graphics or Resolution? Which one is more important?

The demand and craze for graphics support in a laptop is such that it has taken up the laptop industry by its fame and cost. Yes, graphics support is definitely a very important feature in a laptop that is designed for Photoshop, but when a laptop invests in a high-quality graphics card by compromising the resolution – there is nothing to get tempted with.

At least professionals must be aware that resolution is always more significant than GPU in a Photoshop laptop. It is ideal to invest in the graphic support of a laptop that is to be used for Photoshop, but not at the cost of a poor resolution.

Both these specs have individual and varying contributions, such that one cannot substitute the other. It is not a wise idea to go for a poor-quality resolution just to purchase sophisticated graphics support for your laptop.

SSD or HDD? What to Choose?

Again though most of the laptops nowadays include SSD storage you can still get a few budget laptops having HDD storage. It is very likely to confuse you about which type of storage to invest in.

Let us start by understanding what is the difference between these two types of storage.

SSD storage provides speed and HDD storage provides a big size of storage.

Doesn’t that make the judgment a lot easier?

What do you need for Photoshop – Speed or Size?

If someone asks me I would personally say that if I can save some pennies by avoiding the SSD storage, it’s not a bad deal either. Intricate art and craftwork often require time and patience.

We may slightly compromise on the speed but a large storage size gives us ample space to work with. We can easily store our data, and files under operation edited works without the risk of facing a shortage of space.

On the other hand, if speed is all you desire, go for an SSD. I am a fan of the faster boot-up times of an SSD. If you really feel that you can go out of storage, you can opt for an external hard drive as an added storage option.

That’s all. Let not the Fabricators trap you in their deceptive webs. Always make a cross-check before investing in a feature and know the return value of your investment.

Important factors and Minimum Requirements:

  • Display Size

Our Recommendation: 15 to 17 inches

Investing in the size of a display could be a smart move towards an ideal photoshop laptop. Don’t you want to view enlarged details on the screen to increase Precision and Accuracy in your work? Of course, you do want that to happen and you will require a good size of a display!

At the same time, increased screen size will mean lesser portability. Decide on both fronts and go with the display size that works perfectly for you.

  • Resolution

Our Recommendation: HD (1366*768pixels) to Full HD (1920×1080 pixels)

To be honest I did not want to approve an HD resolution for Photoshop. But, if it’s the last choice it’s fine. At a minimum level, we expect the users to have a full HD 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution so that they can clearly view what’s going on the screen even with the thinnest line.

  • RAM

Our Recommendation: 4 GB to 16 GB DDR4 RAM

To be straight and brief 8 GB RAM is what you need for Photoshop if you get hold of 16GB RAM that is perfectly the best you can get. It mostly depends on the speed of the work that you expect. If you can spend some extra time, working with 4GB RAM would not be a big deal for you. On the other hand, if you want your editing or digital designing to be done in the blink of an eye then get 16 GB RAM.

  • Storage

Our Recommendation: 1 TB HDD

Concentrating on the size of the storage is a General requirement of any Photoshop user. When you want to store all those edited works safely at a confined, if that confined please does not have enough area you can simply deny it.

  • GPU

Our Recommendation: At least Intel Integrated graphics 620

Missing integrated graphics support would be a great miss this time. Graphics support enables your display to display to produce true-to-life colors and vibrant images on the screen that feel lively. That not just flatters the display but also enhances your precision and fun of working.

Dedicated Graphics cards are harder to find on a budget. If you at all find one, chances are the company offering would have cut corners on other aspects, such as build quality or storage.

  • CPU

Our Recommendation: Intel i5 processor (Generation 9 or Onward)

Here we are with the most confused yet most important spec of a laptop for Photoshop uses which can clearly not select anything less than an Intel i5 processor. If you can get something above it that’s a wonderful idea.

We will not make you go through 100 products and leave you equally confused as you would have been without the assistance of our list.
